Finally Free

God has truly been

So very good to me.

More than even my

Natural eyes can see.

He’s fought all my battles

And won all my wars.

He’s brought me through all of this

With very minimal scars.

My heart is oh so happy

And my soul – it actually leaps.

To know that when I’m sad

That God begins to weep.

No words can describe

How grateful I truly am.

For the only One who’s perfect –

The Sacrificial Lamb.

Every one of my debts,

He chose to pay.

And still He gives me new mercies

Each and every day.

It is unbelievable.

I am overwhelmed.

I get to go to heaven

When I know I should be damned.

The world tried its best

To beat me completely down.

But now I am wearing

My beautiful victor’s crown!

Everything that the enemy

In the past destroyed or stole

God will restore it.

He’ll restore it one hundred fold.

Every tear that I have shed

My Daddy in heaven has kept.

That is why I do not regret

All the nights that I have wept.

Safe and secure

In my Father’s arms.

Not a single hair on my head

Can the enemy successfully harm.

When God moves I will move.

When He stays I will stay.

What He loves I will love.

What He says I will say.

I owe Him everything –

My entire life.

My health.  My strength.  My joy.

The fact that I have no strife.

It is almost like

I am living in a dream.

That the God of all creation

Chose me to be on His team.

So thank you, Lord.

Thank you for loving me.

It is because of You

That I am finally free!
